If you’re interested in exchanging books with other book lovers, you might want to sign up for a free username on bookcrossing.com. Among other things, users list books they’re looking for, or books they have to offer, and send them to each other as trades. Or maybe you could read up on bookboxes and start a kinky one, which each recipient could then swap one book out of and replace it with a new book, getting back to you with all new books. If you have more questions about the site, I’m a longtime bookcrosser, and I can explain. Just shoot me an email!

I just checked the Surrendered Wife out of the library yesterday, and 60 pages into it I have the exact same opinion you do. The entire thing is a crock of shit–her criteria for a “good” husband are that you’re not being abused, nor are your children, he doesn’t have an addiction, and he’s not chronically unfaithful. If he doesn’t fit any of those criteria, you have the OMG PERFECT HUSBAND.

I like the very basics of her theory–that if you stop nagging at your partner (since obviously this applies to any and all relationships, not just husband/wife), things will get better.

I just really disagree with the way that she’s talking about her theory, the examples she uses, the amazing mind-reading husband we all apparently have, and the really odd topping-from-the-bottom vibe that I keep getting from here.

When I finish the book, I’ll blog a proper post about it. =p

You know, I’ve thought about doing this exact thing with paddles. A paddle mail exchange. Think about it! One paddle making the rounds? How cool would that be! I could be spanked with the same paddle that spanked Bethie’s butt… and then on to someone else. I bet we’d all give different reviews on how it felt too.

I got almost that exact response! “Where do you want to eat?” “Whatever you would like.” “So how about McDonalds?” (I HATE McDonalds. He knows it.) “You know, chinese takeout sounds good…” He hates when I’m being super-sub in times he just wants a straight answer.

I’d love to get in on a book exchange as well! I re-read my books whenever the mood strikes me (maybe once or twice a year), so I’d even like to get the same books back occasionally. I have at least a half-dozen. Would there be some sort of list to swap from? i.e. each person would have a “has” list and a “wants” list? I’ve never done a book exchange, so I’ll be eager to see how it works out.
