Tack Roller
After many false starts and trashed attempts, we’ve finally got a functional tack roller.
It’s not pretty, and kind of looks like a taped-up mess, but it’s definitely usable.
Basically, what I ended up doing was taking an empty toilet paper roll and splitting it down the side to open it up. Then I covered the outside with a layer of duct tape.
Insert the tacks from the inside. After some putzing around with placement, we (HE) figured out that spacing the tacks out more makes it hurt more. So, they got spaced. >:-|
Then I covered the inside of the roll with more tape to hold the tacks in and provide stability.
Wrap the roll back around the paint roller and tape it. Lots.
It’s surprisingly secure and solid. Much sharper than it looks, too. In fact, because the whole sharpening thing was too involved (read: I’m too lazy) I elected not to do so, and now I’m really glad I didn’t. They do not need sharpened.
It’ll (hopefully) get put to good use tonight at the party we’re going to. I’ll let you know how it feels when he’s seriously going for pain and not just fucking around (which was ouchie enough! lol)
Total cost: Less than $10 bucks. :-)
