Play Party
We went to a play party last night. It was a big one, a twice annual event where the big furniture is brought out and lots of people come and there are all manners of fetishes and such. It was very cool.
There was a cross, a frame, a bondage chair, spanking benches, and other things dangling from the ceiling. The atmosphere was amazing. You can’t walk into a place like that and NOT want to be naked and splayed across a piece of heavy black furniture, hurting. At least, I couldn’t. ;-)
We’re going to have to invest in buying Master some leather…lol. Most of the Doms there were leather, head to toe (literally, from boots to hats).
One man, wearing a white frilly tutu, spiked heels and a corset was simply gorgeous. I’m still in awe at how accepting, how open people are. Who knew this was out there? It’s awesome!
I walked around the entire night with cuffs and collar and a leash. In a bar! We were set up in a large open back room (like where they would have wedding receptions), but the bar part was open to the public still. While it wasn’t crowded at all as the bar is set out in the boonies and seems to cater mostly to alternative lifestyles (it was a gay bar), it was still just really *weird* for me to be sent out there to fetch drinks (soda pop) in fetish gear.
Though I was far from being the most outlandishly dressed person there! (see: man-in-tutu :D) Men in butt-less chaps and women in skirts that were little more than waistbands, I was actually conservatively dressed in a long, tight black skirt, heeled boots and top. But when it’s new, it feels naked.
I was naked soon enough anyway. :D
We watched people play for a long time, just getting a feel for the place. All the while that I’m getting more and more nervous knowing that I’d soon be naked and on display for the crowd watching, worried about wimping out or embarrassing Master in some way, it didn’t even occur to me (until way later) that Master was dealing with His own stage fright.
It’s just as intimidating for Him to be “performing” in front of a crowd of seasoned players, not knowing what they might be thinking of His technique, or how He relates to me. And also, as He mentioned in my ear at one point before we played, “I think we play heavier than these people” which only adds more worry on top of worry. Who wants to be the couple that the DM has to ask to stop, you know? How mortifying.
It’s not that we were going to have a scene of intensity at all, but the scenes playing around us were quick, light paddlings, Hollywood-type floggings. It all seemed so gentle. Maybe it’s kept light for public consumption? I don’t know. I’m learning as I go.
At any rate, when He did finally put me up on the frame, He certainly didn’t go “light”. I’m not sure the man knows how, to be honest. It wasn’t the most intense, or the most painful scene we’ve ever done, but it wasn’t Hollywood light neither. I was doing my fair share of trying to dance away from the whip.
We were the only ones who had a whip. That was another point of nervousness. Maybe whips are “too much”. I know that the pop of the whip against my skin seemed incredibly loud in the room, my hisses and grunts even louder.
But we were complimented by the DM, said we’d given a “very enjoyable” scene. I know I sure enjoyed it!
And a little bit later, Master “gave” me to a woman wanting to have a flogging scene. Stripped naked and tied to the cross, this girl whompalomped my ass.
Women are meaner than men I think. Master is mean enough, that’s for sure, but women seem to have an extra edge that men don’t. It’s in the way they snatch a handful of hair and yank your head back, the way they giggle at your grunts and moans.. and their fingernails! Holy Ouchie, Batman.
She worked me over pretty good. Had I not had the cross in front of me to lean on I’m pretty sure she’d have knocked me over. I swear every stroke was catching the top chubby roll on my ass too. Jesus that hurt.
It was good though. At the end we both agreed to play again next time we meet up. :-)
These were taken last night when we got home. It’s a shame that cameras aren’t allowed in the play area. This would have made a *great* movie. And, a side effect I’m noticing from having the camera on so very often when we play and then not having at the parties. Without being able to see it on the video afterwards makes it seem less “real” to me. I’m so used to being able to see it when it’s over, seeing another perspective, that not having that leaves it feeling a little like a dream. Weird huh?

Then it was over and it was home to bed. It was cold, we were tired and spent, wanting nothing more than to collapse into bed and zonk out. I’ve worn it for too long, I guess, that I can’t sleep without it. I sleep with my fist curled around the padlock because the edges of it are scratchy and sharp and I felt incredibly naked without it. But I also knew that a night without it would gift me with better sleep and more comfort. So I was warring with myself over it. Ask for it or don’t ask for it.
In the end I asked if I could have it. The night’s play had left me feeling too vulnerable to deal also with not having the security of the chain around my neck. So I asked in that tiny, little girl voice if I could wear it anyway, and He laughed and patted my head and said of course I could.

And as for shaving, I shave with bikini zone shaving cream, a good razor, and use Goldbond powder for any irritation. I do get razor burn sometimes but it’s not a huge issue. I’m not woman enough to try waxing. ;-)

Back when i was collared, i would often participate in public play scenes with my Domme. As did O/our personal scenes, these would often end with me crying. W/we got a lot of nasty looks from some people who didn’t play that heavy, and who didn’t understand that i often *need* to cry.
Many public places will probably seem very light to you. Heavy players are hard to find, especially outside of big cities. i’ve never really found any outside of SoCal.

Waxing is easy! The common conception is that if it hurts at the top of my pubic hair it must be terrible down in the pink bits, but it’s not! Seriously, all of those nerves are directed elsewhere. I LOVE how smooth I am afterwards, it makes it so easy to clean up. You should at least try it once. The only part that sucks is that the hair has to grow enough for the wax to grab it when you want it done again, so there is a period of time with some growth.
I couldn’t dream of having scenes in public or being so personal with a stranger. These are the things you do that amaze me. I suppose we all have our own demons.

It can be nerve wracking for the dominant too, kaya. We have expectations and unspoken rules to live up to – and we are “performing” for a room full of people yet still hoping to reach domspace. I am very sadistic, so I used to tone it down when in public. (Note: used to, not anymore!) Whips (especially cats) tended to be frowned upon because they break skin, and I had found that any cutting play in public can be difficult too.
Nowadays I don’t bother censoring for anyone. If they don’t like it, they can leave the room. As long as what is happening is ok with my sub I have no worries.
And yes, women in general tend to be more evil as Dommes – we know where it hurts! ;)

As for waxing, I have waxed it all off, and it is so much better than shaving. Just make sure that whoever does it uses “cold” wax. It goes on warm, cools, and then is peeled off. It does not take off the skin the way warm wax does (the kind you use cloth strips to pull out the hair). It really is not that bad.

A good waxer will take at least an hour to do this. She will make sure that you have no ingrown hairs and get the little “clear” hairs that like to hang round in the inner labia. IDEAL hair length is 1/4″ this way no hairs break instead of coming out completely.
There is one downfall though – finding someone who does it the way YOU want is difficult. And because of the rate of growth back of the hair can take months.

My first try at professional waxing was also my last. Keep in mind that I have a lot of hair so maybe someone with sparse hair would not find it so bad. The actual pain of waxing itself was not nearly so bad as the bleeding and lingering bruises and irritation it left. Yes, I said *bruises.*
And the worst part was that I didn’t even get smooth. There were a lot of small hairs that the waxer (who was experienced, professional, and highly recommended) couldn’t get. She finally had to stop trying because my skin was starting to tear.
Now I pluck my public hairs out with tweezers. Yes, it takes a long time, but it leaves a much better result. A side effect is that I now know that I have about 6,000 pubic hairs. (Yes, I counted.)
Just a note on public play…no need to worry about being mortified about DM’s asking you to stop…just let them know in advance if you think your scene may be heavier or louder or in some way, significantly different than the typical scenes you’ve observed in that play space. They should be used to that & it will make them & you feel more at ease. They will likely let you know if they think any of your plans might not be welcome or may be against the rules of the establishment you’re playing in. I play in a large city & scenes that draw blood are not unusual or frowned upon. But if they might be in your area, a chat with the DM or lead DM ahead of time should clear up any concerns in advance. Hope you enjoy the public scene!
Re; waxing – owwwww. I had my armpits waxed 3 days b4 *the* BDSM event of the year & I was still red, blotchy & sore at the big event :-( There’s another option to waxing…laser! I have had virtually all my hair lasered off & though expensive, once it’s gone, it’s gone. It’s not like waxing where you have to keep doing it. Having my kitty lasered was painful but in all honesty, the bony parts of my legs were more painful than the kitty. As an added bonus, if you’re really in touch w/your endorphins, you can actually get into a groove where the lasering is almost like a scene. Almost. I haven’t figured out a way to sexualize it yet :-) It’s a permanent alternative to shaving/waxing. If you consider it, do some research first – like a good whipping, don’t let just anyone do it :-)
I do not wear alot of leather. In fact, I own a pair of leather pants which I had for almost 3 years until I wore them for the first time this past August. I am not really interested in wearing the who “typical dominant” garb. I am more comfortable in my regular clothes. I do have certain items I wear when I am playing or scening, but buying a whole bunch of leather just isn’t my thing. Wow, it seems like this waxing discussion could be a whole entry! I’m sorry that your waxing experience was terrible. I suppose it would have been beneficial to mention that I can’t do it myself. I would liken that to trying to give myself my own piercings or vaccinations, of which I have serious problems with needles (I pass out, family trait called extreme vasovagal response….fun times figuring that out).
To the other woman who has to tweeze each and every hair, dear GOD! That is technically a form of literal torture and you amaze me, as that hurts a ton more for me. I think the wax that that professional used was too rough for you, they can create different combinations of wax to work with your skin and hair. Bleeding and bruising has never occurred on me, while some amount of irritation/swelling does, it’s nice and doesn’t last long. I can’t imagine that waxing armpits would be bad either. I really must be blessed with the type of wax, my body and my waxer!
I’m sorry to everyone who had bad experiences. Though, dear kaya, do try it with a professional once (which is what I meant before but didn’t specify) including the butt hairs. I know you like it cheap, but consider that it should only be about $45 for a month and a half.
Permanent removal is something I am still considering however as it would definitely be worth it.
I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding is Hand » Play Party, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong :)
