It’s Not Nice To Mess With Mother Nature
By my calculations, I will absolutely be smack dab in the middle of my period when we go to Spankfest.
Where Master expects me to be naked and he claims he’s going to fuck me on a picnic table.
I refuse to submit to this. Though Master IS sometimes called Motherfucker, Mother Nature is NOT my dom. Or domme. Whatever.
And I’m not going to take this lying down! Or standing up with blood running down my leg at Spankfest!
I am going to mess with Mother Nature- if you all can help me, that is.
I have three unopened packs of birth control pills. They were Jes’s. (hence the reason I’m soon to be a granny. They are unopened. ~eye roll~)
Soooo… I know there is a way to manipulate your cycle with pills. How does one do this? I just need to delay it for about a week.
Help?

start taking the pill, and keep taking it till after the event.
It depends on the pills. If what you’ve got are monophasic, then just start taking them, but only the active pills (when you get to the placebo week, start in on the next pack of active pills). You need to keep the level of hormones in your body steady.
If the pills are phasic (have different levels of hormones, usually indicated by being different colors), you can do the same thing but less effectively. Try to start taking the pills that match the week of your period you are currently on (i.e. if you are a week from the day you usually start, take the third week of pills, skip the placebo, and go straight to the next active set.) You will probably have spotting in the fourth week. Actually, if you’re not already on regular birth control, you’ll probably have spotting anyway.
Most doctors are okay with giving people birth control pills to do this, so it might be worth a visit to get your own script and proper medical advice. I’m offering all of this based on three years of experience as a reproductive process peer educator.
Good luck!
Or if you only want to take one month of them- start taking them two weeks or so before your intended period- that should skip it and once you stop taking them you should have about a 5 days before it starts
There’s also a birth control designed to give you just 4 periods a year. Seasonal is what it’s called? Or something to that effect?
But yeah, skip the placebo pills. You may get some spotting – I tried several times and never managed to make the bleeding go away but you *should* be able to keep it to a minimum.
I haven’t had a period in three years because I keep taking the pill. I’m on Seasonale, and when the ‘period week’ pills are supposed to start, I just start a new package of pills.
Lybrel has been FDA approved and is a year-long pill. I will be asking for that during my next gyn appointment.
To avoid spotting, I found that if I take the pill at the EXACT same time every day, I don’t spot. Ever. I set a daily reminder on google to text message my cell phone and when that text comes, I immediately go take it.
cell phones are so usefull for remembering its pill time…i set the alarm on mine to go off at the time i take it =)
Oh, yeah! I forgot. Count the number of pills you have and make sure there are enough active ones to get you through the end of the event. It’s not unheard of for people to have a period that starts as soon as the hormone levels drop, and it would suck to have your period start on day two or something.
I’ve never actually been able to get it to work for me, doing that. But what Rebecca says makes most sense from a medical standpoint.
I will keep fingers and eyes crossed for you cuz… yeah… period would suck.

Um, I hate to be heretical here, but why not just go to your own doctor and tell her you wanna stop le flow? (La flow?) As Rebecca said, she can probably prescribe something, and I would think what she would give you would be more likely to work than someone else’s prescription.
I dunno, I don’t fuck with birth control pills because they make me insane. Good luck!

i have no clue how the pill works- never been on it in my like… but what worked for me- a hysterectomy! lolol… just teasing you girl, thats pretty drastic, but im loving’ not having a period anymore! good luck!
hugs,

and i meant life- not like- duh..lol
My period lasted a month once… that’s right… a whole month (groans). My doc gave me something to straighten me right out. Thank GAWD!
I vote with Sera and going to the doctor to find out something that is right for you.
I second (third???) Sera and Elle…my doc prescribed a period-stopper for me when i was planning a holiday that coincided with period-hell, can’t remember what it was called though! gah!
sorry!
Rebecca’s comments are good advice. GYNs (in my experience) don’t mind helping you delay a cycle or skip one if you need. Back when I was on the pill, he advised me to just skip taking the 1 week of green pills and go straight into the next packet.
GOOD LUCK! That really sucks on the timing of that.
I have to say, I would probably do what was suggested above – go to the Dr and explain that you are going to be going away on vacation and a period would be a real downer.
They will be able to prescribe something that will work rather than messing around with birth-control pills that might not.
I have a friend that did just that recently – her period was set to coincide with her wedding – an the Dr was more than happy to help her delay it by a couple of weeks so that she could be period free for her honeymoon.
Ob/Gyns do this all the time. I’m not regularly on anything but every vacation I’ve planned in the last 5 years would’ve coincided with my period. I just call and get a 2 month supply- go now, though b/c most insurance will only pay for 1 every 30 days- then you just follow the directions in the pack, skipping the last weekof the first and move right on to the second.
I’d echo the “go to your ob/gyn” thoughts. I know I used to move my period around all the time, but I was already using the pill. I don’t know if starting to take them NOW will be as effective…
I’ve used norethisterone to delay things, taken from 3 days before your period should start until the coast is clear. I tried using my daughters contraceptive pill too…didn’t work, just turned me into the bitch from hell!
See your Doctor! DO NOT TAKE your daughters unused pills!!!
Please be safe & sane.
Master laughs at the fact that i talk so casually about rescheduling my period whenever something comes up that i definitely do *not* want to be bleeding through.
Is your next period going to occur BEFORE Spankfest, or will the next period be the one you’re wanting to miss?
If you have one period in between, usually you start a pill pack on either the first day of your period, or on the first sunday after you start. If you don’t have a period between now and then, I’m not sure how effective the pills would be starting too late in the cycle. I’ve started them up to a week into my cycle and they aren’t effective for birth control, but they do help with my cycle.
The majority of pill packs are three weeks, and if its a monophasic (all one color except for the last week), then you can just skip the last 7 placebo pills, and directly go to the next pack.
If its the triphasic, then you need to stay on the same level of hormones (take the same color of pills) from the different packs before moving to the next color, which increases the hormones. If you take the packs as they are, then you’re upping and lowering the hormone amounts, which will likely trigger bleeding – as well as mood swings from hell.
Something to be aware of is that birth control pills affect folks differently, and some pills can make you absolutely freakin crazy. They can trigger the emotional swings and hell of PMS and make them worse, not better. (Not always, but I’ve gone through numerous types of pills through the years finding ones that work and ones that don’t).
Also, some medications affect birth control pills, so depending on what you’re already taking – you could have breakthrough bleeding or a period regardless.
Checking with your doctor or a pharmacist is a good idea.
Just don’t take the sugar pills they include for the period week that month. Keep taking the pills with the actual hormones in them. The only reason women on the pill still have periods (usually) is because they take “fake” pills one week of the month.
i used to fast, like not eat, regularly a few years ago…like once a month. a few times it happened to occurr while i was on my period and when i didn’t eat for that one day, my period stopped. i thought once i started eating again it would come right back but it didn’t. interesting i thought and well that is what works for me.

When i used to have my period i used to bleed so heavy i would have one day a month i labeled “Day of the dead”. I would stay in bed and with the drapes closes tight and i used to hate anyone to even come in my room. Now that i’ve had my hysterectomy i still have one day a month i cramp up, have headaches and feel like i could puke my shoes up so that one day a month Sir orders dinner and just lets me stay in bed with my remote control.
In fact i was going to blog about this tonight……then i come here LOL
Stay strong ♥

Do what im doing now lol… I didnt want my period to happen so i found my left over birth control I had and took 2 per day the first day to jump start (which is what it says to do if you miss a day anyways) and 1 a day after that. Works for me. and then just stop taking them when you want to have your period again.
those skip a month pills tend to make PMS a non stop affair – I coined them the psycho drug
