…and, boy, are my arms tired!
So far this morning:
*I cooked Master breakfast (bacon, egg and cheese biscuit sandwiches)
*reheated and packed Master’s lunch (leftover pot roast, garlic mashed taters and carrots)
*serviced him after his shower
*walked 2 1/2 miles (in less than 30min)
*made 5 gallons of laundry soap
*took a shower
It’s 7-freakin-30am.
It can be nap time now?
This early morning shit is for the birds.
At least Master is off that 4:30am rotation (for now anyway). Even though getting up at 5:30 is still suck-worthy, that one hour makes a HUGE difference.
And he can drive me down the road and drop me off now. When he was leaving at 5am, it was still dark and the last time I tried to go for a walk before the sun came up, I could hear howling (wolves? coyotes?) from way too close and there was rustling in the trees and I got all kinds of spooked. At least by 6am the sun is up and I’ll be able to see the animal as it attacks me.
I’m dieting/exercising with determination now. When I went in for my check up at the docs, she worried that I’m in the beginning stages of hypertension. Which, considering my family history, isn’t a huge shock. But after watching my mom deal with the medication side effects and the general health problems associated with her blood pressure and weight, I don’t wanna go there. I don’t need to lose anywhere near what she needs to lose, but I’d rather do it now than have to be trying to do it at her age.
So, Master said he wants me to do another 20 min on the treadmill (which he has set up on an incline, the heartless bastard) later today and maybe, if I have any energy left, I’ll try the Nordic Track, too.
We got the Nordic Track for free from Master’s boss. It’s a really old one but it works. Unfortunately, I’m about as uncoordinated as a kid on his first two-wheeler so getting the hang of how to move my arms and legs and not fall? Fun. Funny, too.
Kinda like this girl here. Hee.
Also, y’all have scared the dickens out of me over taking that prozac. I don’t wanna lose my orgasms! *sob* I’d rather have pms!
Yesterday I repotted all of the flowers in the flower boxes on the deck. I’d planted them in super cheap dirt and they weren’t faring so well so I bought the Miracle Grow potting soil to start over. I don’t know if they can be salvaged but I’m gonna try. They’re only petunias and they seem to be hardy little flowers. The herbs, however, were a lost cause. I dumped them out and just planted a couple of parsley plants. That’s the herb I use the most when it’s fresh anyway.
The tomatoes look great, the cucumber plant is growing.. the rest of the seeds haven’t done a damn thing. I figured this year would be difficult until I get a handle on the growing season/weather pattern so I’m not too disappointed. Next year, I’ll be ready.
The weather is fucking cooky up here. It’s July, yanno? I should not be seeing my breath when I go outside! We about froze our asses off at the fireworks. We all had jackets and blankets and we were still shivering. There was a week of temps in the upper 80’s and I sincerely think that was all the summer we’re going to have. And the kids want to get a pool? Wtf for, ice skating?
Speaking of pools.
The other day, in jest, I made a pithy comment in the Spankfest group on Fet about watersports and needing a snorkel.
Master’s Spankfest shopping list this morning? Snorkel, goggles and a wading pool.
A fucking wading pool!
What was my safeword again?
Oh, that’s right! I don’t have one!
I want a do-over. Hmmph.
~cunt

oh yea i am right there with ya on the weather. we were around a fire all day (thankfully it was a covered pit so we could stay dry) and had sweatshirts and jackets on. the 4th of July really? Al Gore you are full of crap about anything warming here, lol.
itswhoiam´s last blog ..morning glory
No shit. Send some global warming my way please.
You have English weather! Congratulations!
What’s your secret with tomatoes? We’ve put special tomato fertiliser on ours and they’re still not doing great.
If you figure out what your safeword is… Can I borrow it?
I did mine upside down this year. I don’t know if that’s helping (too early to tell really) but so far, so good.
Otherwise, yeah, water and fertilizer and keeping the stems trimmed (but that won’t come until the tomatoes are growing).
OMG – the nordic trak – my parents have one, and I swear to you, doing twenty minutes on that, even on a low level, is more exercise than a million hours of walking. Well, maybe not, but you get the point. It’s super efficient. Start with the legs, then learn to add the arms. Also, make sure you have enough tension, it makes it harder for you to fall off in the funny way (but it’ll probably still happen).
Tulsa´s last blog ..
I’m definitely struggling with the tension. I can’t seem to find the right amount to save my life.
But what a fun piece of equipment. I can’t help but laugh every time I get on it!
It’s almost 6pm and sofar today I’ve:
Scrubbed the bathroom and showerstall, cleaned the mirror, dusted the toilet and sink, reorganized the bathroom cabinet, mopped the fucking bathroom, laundered the bathroom mat by hand. I’ve scooped kittypoop, fed the cats, vacuumed the entire apartment and the upholstered furniture, scraped cathair of the carpet and the sides of Master’s continental bed. I’ve cleaned out the fridge, done one load of dishes (by hand – one load to go), cleaned the micro, the oven and the stove, reorganized the pantry and freezer. I’ve dusted the entire fucking apartment. I’ve neatened, sorted laundry, cleaned the laundry cupboard and cleaning cupboards, cleaned my closet, tidied up and sanitized keyboards and computer mice.
That took me fucking six hours. ‘Cuz the past two weeks, the lowest temp we’ve had indoors was 82F. So all of that has been building and building while I’ve been dying from the heat. Today, it’s a whooping 68F inside.
You can have my extra heat. I has some. >.<
Now I for sure need a nap. You made me tired just reading!
Hey.. how’s those cats doing?
Tehee… you’re welcome?
The cats are doing great! The 14pound one lands on me in the mornings (ouff!) to lick my forehead when I don’t get up to feed her, and the 8pound one paws around on my bladder at 4 am to get a cuddle. They’re awsome, cuddly and CUUUUTE. Also, being spring/summer, they shed like mad. Everything is covered in white fluffy hair. But it’s so totally worth it. Ah wubs em.
Master made a lolcat out of Misha: http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll103/Dakrish/PICT4322.jpg

Sixthreefive,
I’d have killed for something as low as 82 this last weekend. We were around 100 for the holiday. Thank God for basement rooms and nthe 20 degree difference from upstairs.
Dave
Good god, I’d have died for sure! We got 82 with the A/C that’s been on 24/7 since mid-May.
Coyotes girlie….lots and lots of coyotes up there….we have a few down here too.

You made laundry soap?
Being out of work, I’m lookiing to save money where I can. Would you please you tell me how to do that?

Laundry soap
The weather is weird here, too; this was the coldest 4th of July I can ever remember. Plus we’re in a drought. Cold and no rain – not fair. I mean, if it’s going to be cloudy and icky, can’t it rain at least?
And then it was in the 100’s last week. WEIRD!
I’m glad you got scared about the prozac.
Good luck on the workouts! I completely pigged out these last few days and didn’t even go to the gym, bah. Now I have to climb back on board the Health Wagon.
Again!
Amber´s last blog ..Good Times
And we got a lot of rain last week which is why my herbs are garbage. They drowned because I didn’t have them in a properly drain-able (word? Yes? Good.) pot.
I know pigging out. Listen to this. 2 weeks ago or so, Master took me and Jes out to eat. They had a pie special- banana split pie, $1.99 a slice. He said I could get one (what a trooper. he’s so helpful on my diet) and of course, Fatty.. I mean, Jes, had to get one too.
Only she didn’t like it. Took one bite and her fickle pregnant hormones rejected it.
So, we’re sitting there talking and talking.. and pretty soon I look down and I had eaten BOTH pieces of pie.
Chocolate, vanilla pudding, bananas, strawberry sauce, whip cream.. oh god.
I just eat without even thinking.
Kaya,
Oh God, that sounds heavenly, until I try to count the carbs in such a wonderful desert.
Dave
Kaya, I’ve been reading you forever and thought I would finally delurk since I actually own an old Nordic Track and have been known to use it from time to time. Start out holding on to the handlebars and just do the leg action until you’re comfortable – I predict about five minutes [g], and then add the arm motion. Remember it’s just like walking… maybe if you think skating it’ll help you get the ryhthm. And most importantly, put the thing in front of a TV and work out to music video’s or you’ll want to kill yourself from boredom! lol.
But if you can get into a routine with the NT, it’s a fantabulous, no impact workout.

Welcome out of Lurkerville.
It is in the living room, right in front of the tv. I know it’ll work, but, you know, I have to get ON it first.
And of course, I can’t skate.
You’re heading pretty far into Ghost’s-mom territory, yo.
Next he’ll be hurling food at you while you’re bound to a pole in the kiddy pool.
My tomatoes are not doing good at all – I think it was maybe too windy for them up on our deck. So I have moved them to somewhere a bit lower, but they still look sad.
I am having better luck with my lettuces and raddishes though, they are thriving along with all my herbs. I have sage, rosemary, 2 types of thyme, oregano, cilantro, loads of parsley, mint and some basil. All but the parsley is harvestable now, but then parsley does take an age to grow from seed apparently. I should have cheated and bought plants!
The weather is a bit wierd where I am at the moment too – normally it is hot and dry at this point. Instead it is hot and damp – we have had loads of rain. At least the plants like the rain though
But it does mean that the grass needs cutting more frequently
Kaya,
You know, Mr. gets-up-at-4-am-every-weekday is having trouble having sympathy about those 4:30 and 5;30 wake up calls. And I don’t even have a slave to service me after my shower.
Seriously, getting up before the sun rises sucks big time. Even worse, ecept in the late spring to early fall, I’m leaving the house in the dark. In the winter, I’m arriving at work in the dark. Who ever said teaching has to take place in the morning? Not me, that’s for sure.
Dave
Haha… Wow. I really wanna go
Also, M is talking about getting a program to schedule my tasks through out the day. Including my new workout schedule. I’m gonna blog about it. Tomorrow. Cause I keep wasting perfectly good blog posts on non-blog days.
Melen's rayne´s last blog ..Is your happiness related to your owner’s happiness?
Hi kaya,
I’ve been a regular reader for a while. I don’t have a way to ask if this is okay, but I wanted to suggest a few things about losing weight. A few years ago, I weighed 210. I’m only 5′4″. I dropped down to 110. I gained some ‘weight’ back when I started my current job (went from working at a desk to manual labor), so I’ve gained some ‘weight’ back in muscle.
I dieted in stages, because that was the easiest way for me to do it. I didn’t even really “diet” per se – as in, I didn’t do those boxed meals or anything. I did more of a lifestyle change. I first switched to diet/light drinks ONLY. Diet soda, “light” juice, etc. That made a HUGE difference. Now, regular drinks taste bad to me! I also made small substitutions. I like jell-o as a snack, so I switched to sugar free. I use regular whipped cream because the difference in calories between the light and regular was negligible. “Healthy” butter, lean/center cut meat (even bacon!). Then, I worked on my portions, making them smaller and smaller because I was eating entirely too much in one go.
Fast food was eliminated (not counting pizza) was eliminated.
Another trick that helped was whenever I felt hungry, I would drink a large (32 ounce) glass of water and wait 20 minutes. Often, I would find that I was really just thirsty.
Hope this helps! These days, my appetite has grown because of my job at the warehouse (it’s 6 hours of constant cardio), so I can keep up with my Master when eating. It makes him a bit jealous though, because I can eat like him and wear children’s sized clothes.
Call me a naughty girl, but it makes me giggle a bit because it’s the one thing I do better than him.
I think I might be the only one checking every day to see if grandbaby has arrived yet. *taps foot* Sorry, Kaya. lol

On the prozac – it took away my sex drive too, so they gave me wellbutrin to take in addition to get my sex drive back. Still might be a totally unattractive prospect to you, but I thought I’d mention it.

exercise may help enough with the pms not to have to go down the Prozac route…if you can get into a routine with it
i know exercising helps my own pms, but i am such a procrastinator…:D
good luck! and don’t get eaten by wolves!!! aaaaaaaaargh!

I am so jealous that you have coyotes so close to you! Gods I wish we could live in the county, but we’re lazy and don’t want to drive more than a few blows before we hit a gas station. *laughs*
I’m a professional dieter (i.e. lived my whole life like Oprah) and I’ve come to the conclusion that if I have a choice of eating less or exercising, I’ll take the eating less route anytime.
I’m squeeeing at the moment because the sprouted potatoes I planted have turned into plants about a food high!!! And I have other mysterious green which may or may not be weeds. Squeeee!!!
Oh and does it make you feel better if I tell you the sun doesn’t rise here until 7:20am? I get up at 7am and it’s before the freaking sun rises!!!
subtle´s last blog ..Why I am what I am
I’m with subtle. I definitely would rather eat less than exercise. The smell of the gym is just so gross to me.
I think the sun rises fully for me around 6 something, but I have to be at work at 7 on the dot.
