Bland
How does one decorate around or behind a flat screen? It’s not mounted on the wall, it’s sitting on an electric fireplace/media center, and I can’t stand the big expanse of emptiness around it. But hanging pictures or sconces on the wall behind it looks odd because of the depth difference.
I need to hire an interior decorator.
We’re getting new carpet installed this week. I’ve wanted new carpet since we bought the place. It was none too perfect when we moved in and between the dogs, cats, and Babygirl, it didn’t get any prettier. I’m probably more excited than a housewife should be. Or maybe I’m exactly as excited as a housewife would be. Because I’m a housewife. I think today we’re going to go buy paint supplies and paint the living room before the new carpet is installed. More housewifery excitement ensuing.
I had a doctor’s appt last Friday to discuss the hysterectomy. Doc was ready to schedule the surgery for either the 15th or the 25th of this month, but we’re not doing the surgery until sometime next month. Because…
…Jes and the girls (and her husband) are flying home at the end of January! Not permanently, just for a visit. I’ll get about 10 days worth of baby-scent inhaling and little girl giggles. Maybe a little less than 10 days if I’m forced to share with other family members.
Babygirl 2.0 is 4 months old already. She’s laughing out loud and she finds nothing more entertaining than her big sister’s antics. She’s also a little chunky monkey, with fat rolls on her knees and is wearing 6 to 9 month clothing. I love chubby little baby rolls! So cute!
My other Babygirl skypes with me every couple of days. She ‘reads’ me books that she has memorized, she shows me all her toys, her favorite game is sending me “faces” on the chat window. She’s currently going through a no-clothing phase and will only wear underwear, lol. Jes doesn’t care– less laundry to do this way.
She’s excited about getting to fly in a big plane to come and see her Beebaw and Prampa. She knows she’ll have to wear clothes, though. Heh.
Holding off on the surgery for ^that^ is worth another month of cramps, pain, and bleeding. Oh, the martyrdom! ~heavy dramatic sigh~
That pretty much sums up my life for the time being. All of that ~flaps hand at the above~ boring and bland minutia is why I’m not blogging very often. It’s pretty tempting to close things down until life returns to normal. Maybe this is like Seinfeld when it hung on for two seasons longer than it should have and then went out with the worst storyline in the history of finales, lol.
Meh. Whatever. I’ll be around. If I feel like it. Or not, if I don’t.

Our kids went through nudist phases too. I think they’d still be in it if it hadn’t been for school making them wear clothes.
Very exciting that they are coming to visit you! Yay grandkids!
Our TV has a hot air balloon decoration hanging from the ceiling above it. I know it sounds odd, but I don’t think it looks too bad.
I am NOT an interior decorator, for sure.
Skype is a godsend for grandparents who are far from grandbabies/kids.
Can’t help with decorating…
nothinng ever looks quite right to me. LOL
Happy you will get to see and cuddle baby girls.
Don’t stop blogging just give us an update every once in awhile.
take care
Joyce
I’m glad you’re still around – even if it is every now and again. After reading you so long I’d miss you terribly if you just disappeared! Excited for you that the grandbabies are visiting
xxx
What about putting up a photo wallpaper behind the TV that might blend into the room and give the room a total new look. There are several websites that do it or even take a picture you have shot and make it into a wallpaper.
Good for you, Beebaw.
The nudey princess stage is fun, no?
There is value to me to hear about your *life.* If you only wrote about kink, i wouldn’t understand from you (and everyone else) that the ebb and flow of things is normal in our relationships. i don’t think it means you are “jumping the shark.” (i just wrote “humping the shark” and seriously…if that is what is happening…i don’t wanna know!)
Let’s go Shopping! I’ll wander over and take a look and then we’ll go do girly things like wall hangings and decoration stuffs!
How’s that sound?
Sounds good!
For behind the TV: maybe try something like drapes/fabric hung in a way that looks nice. Kind of give it a theatre/curtain look.
They have less detail than images or such, but enough to take away it being a big blank thing. If you want to really dress it up and provide lighting you could use semi-transparent fabrics and put light sources back there for a diffuse look.
You could paint a rectangle of bold color directly behind the TV.
The best things are made by your own hand
why don’t you try redecorate in your own way (hands
) ?
Coming in to say Happy Birthday, Kaya. I hope it’s great!
you two need to get “busy”…I”m bored and need some good Kaya/Scott kink, your FB page isn’t nearly as entertaining.
So, I’m a poor college student, but we fixed the bare wall behind the flatscreen problem by hanging a really cool tapestry. It’s twin sheet size, so you don’t lose the pattern even though part of it is covered.
Ok…since I didn’t notice anyone pointing out the obvious, here ya go: It’s not the wall.
You see? No????
Right….your wall is not the problem. Your new tv is. It’s too small. Either get a bigger tv or a put it on a smaller wall. Easy peasy…and, yes…you’re welcome.
Upton
Don’t go, we would miss you:)
Maybe he doesn’t have the need of buying a bigger TV … they’re not like taking a candy from a baby
